The year’s most innovative products were honored at Cosmetic Executive Women’s 2014 Insiders’ Choice Beauty Awards on May 16th in New York City. Over 5,500 beauty industry execs participated in the voting process to determine the winners.

Iconic Award Winners

The winners of the Icon Award; Most 'Buzzed' About, and Best-Sellers.

The Iconic Beauty Award winner in Mass is Maybelline New York’s Great Lash Mascara, which the brand says is America’s best-selling mascara. Here’s a few surprising stats: One tube of Great Lash is sold every 1.9 seconds within the U.S., and every 1.1 seconds globally. Plus, the mascara’s instantly recognizable signature pink bottle with its lime green cap - designed in 1971 - has certainly earned ‘icon’ status.

These are the winners of the Eco Awards, Indie Brand and QVC Pick.

The Iconic Beauty Award winner in Prestige is YSL Beaute’s Touche Éclat. According to YSL, one Touche Éclat is sold somewhere in the world every ten seconds. Part of its claim to fame is its packaging – a convenient highlighter pen in classic gold that can help to brighten and conceal with just a click.

Eco, Indie, and QVC Winners

Aveda is the Eco winner, due to its many Sustainability Principles – including incorporating recyclable and post-consumer recycled content into its packaging. Aveda is also the first beauty company to achieve 100 percent post-consumer recycled PET packaging for a few of its skincare and hair care products. In addition, Aveda is one of the largest corporate purchasers of wind energy in Minnesota, where its manufacturing facility sends zero waste to the landfill.

The Indie Brand winner is GlamGlow, a brand created by the Hollywood-based wife-and-husband team Glenn & Shannon Dellimore. The brand includes different types of mud-based masks and treatment products, which were originally developed for actors to help make their skin look camera-ready – instantly. The product lineup is expanding, and now includes a mud cleanser.

GlamGlow’s packaging looks as camera-ready as an actor’s skin. The luxe jars are modern shades of blue, green, black and white, which look matte and metallic at the same time - reminiscent of iPod
