SAVE FACE TO PROVIDE ACCREDITATION FOR NON-INVASIVE COSMETIC PRACTITIONERS

2014-06-29 22:02:20

A new organisation, Save Face Ltd, will operate an independent scheme to provide accreditation and regulation to qualified non-invasive cosmetic surgery practitioners.

The company aim to offer a competitive edge over less professional counterparts, and act as a platform to acknowledge, promote and reward best practice.

Director of Save Face, Brett Collins, said, “The explosion in the market place in recent years resulted in a sea of operators — many of whom are not trained, qualified or audited. It is an area of great concern, which has been identified but not yet fully addressed.”

Not only will it aim to support practitioners, Save Face will also act as a resource that consumers can use to make informed decisions about both their choice of treatment and provider.

“Through our website, consumers can search for and find only the very best practitioners who adhere to the highest industry standards,” said Mr Collins.

Save Face claim they will highlight the associated risks of non-invasive procedures, the complications and effects consumers may face if they opt for treatments by untrained and unqualified practitioners.

Their business model was developed in response to the Keogh report, which advocated clear standards of practice and formal accreditation of all cosmetic practitioners.

To achieve accreditation by Save Face, practitioners must have achieved accredited qualifications, operate from premises meeting certain requirements, adhere to a code of conduct that covers handling complaints, insurance, responsible advertising and consent packages, as well as a continued demonstration of competence through an annual appraisal.

Co-director, Ashton Honeyball, said, “An industry benchmark which informs and protected the consumer is long overdue. Equally, it is high time that clinicians who constantly seek to improve and invest in best practice are acknowledged, differentiated and rewarded.”
