Three European Cosmetic Suppliers Partner for Full-Service Mask Deal

2018-11-02 15:13:25

French company
Strand Cosmetics Europe, Swiss company MS Swiss Cosmetics, and the French subsidiary of Japan’s Taiki Group are pooling their scientific, technical, and industrial expertise to provide a full-service masks’ offer. The jointly developed range of modular and customizable solutions is based on a selection of tried and tested fabrics and formulas exclusively made in France and/or Switzerland.

The packaging capacity for these masks, which boast the highest standards in terms of technical and scientific quality, will be between 10 and 12 million units per year. Flexibly organized according to the economic and marketing interests of customers and their preference for a made in France or Swiss made label, production will be broken down between the French, Swiss and Czech sites of Strand Cosmetics Europe, MS Swiss Cosmetics, and Marvinpac (Co-founder of MS Swiss Cosmetics with Strand Cosmetics Europe in which it also has a stake). All three sites comply with European Good Manufacturing Practice regulations.

Since 2017, the three French, Swiss, and Czech sites have been the focus of an investment program aimed at building industrial facilities dedicated to the filling and packaging of impregnated masks, with the support of Taiki Cosmetics Europe, co-investor in the Czech Republic with Marvinpac and a pioneer in their design for over 25 years. The facilities are designed to allow for “considerable creative latitude, enabling the production of the full range of masks, from the simplest to the most sophisticated.”

They offer a range of options: automated cutting from reels of non-woven fabric for supports and reels of aluminum complex for sachets; folding; packaging in preformed sachets; filling; sachet sealing and printing of batch numbers, with end-of-process weight and airtightness inspections.

In parallel, Strand Cosmetics Europe’s and MS Swiss Cosmetics’ skincare laboratories have acquired expertise in mask formulation, working closely with industrial teams. The production of a mask is the result of a subtle synergy between the kind of formula, its viscosity and the filling step. It demands absolute rigor and requires a global approach, at an upstream project stage. This quest for an optimized solution naturally incorporates the customization of the product, based on the options developed by Taiki Cosmetics Europe:

-    Non-woven fabrics selected for their properties: softness, weight, impregnation, restitution and stretching capacity, biodegradable, etc., compatible with the desired formula.
-    Varied designs, some patented for their ingenuity and ergonomics: intuitive unfolding, reinforced firming effect, etc.
-    Packaging sachets designed with opening systems adapted to specific shapes.

Lastly, within the framework of a turnkey approach, brands can take advantage of additional co-packing and international logistics services operated by Marvinpac, whose design office also develops secondary custom packaging solutions—rigid boxes and containers—with a view to point-of-sale product promotion.

This strategy between high-profile international players is aimed at addressing the strong growth in demand for mask solutions on the part of European cosmetics brands, influenced by Asian culture, widely promoted by Taiki Group and its European subsidiary.

It delivers a remarkable, targeted, relevant and flexible solution, which, moreover, favors project management by a single contact person, at any of the three company partners, capable of mobilizing all the required resources with a high degree of reactivity throughout the value chain.
